202 Pro V setup

I own a 1998 202 with a 225 yamaha 27 three blade prop. I have questions about placement or height of the motor on the Jack plate. Also if this prop is to big. I can only get around 5200 rpm. I am pulling into the 70's beforeuncontrolable chime walk. The boat and motor are in great shape with very low hours on the motr. The prop is in good condition. I bought with this prop and am wondering what the best prop to run is.

What size jackplate do you have and do you know how to measure your propshaft height? With the Vmax, you should be around 1in.- 1.5 in. below the pad with your propshaft height. On the 202 you also needa 15 in. jackplate for the best performance. A 26 Turbo TXP would be the best prop for your rig.

While a 26 may be more ideal for your rig, you should still be able to run a 27 on it with no problem. If you are hitting a ton of chine walk, and only able to get to 5200 rpm's, you need to come up with your motor because it sounds like you have it buried. Bring it up in 1/4 inch increments and keep an eye on your water pressure, that's the easiest way to find the sweet spot.
