Head Gasket 1998 225 yamaha

I went to fish a tournament the other day and noticed water copming from a head gasket. I didnt fish and am looking for answers. I know I need to replace not a problem but am wondering if this has happeed to anyone else. It seems nothing worse happened to the motor so I got lucky has anyone else had this problem?
