need help with speed on 202

I have a 99' 202 with a 200 EFI mercury with a 25 pitch prop. I can get it to turn about 5900 rpms but the best it will run is 63 mph. i need some help getting my speed up other similiar blazers say they gps theres at 69-73 mph. What do i need to try?

try raising your motor

You should have to change it as it will not give you more RPM. You can try 625 Elite pro. It will you the real speed experience...

hey i got the same problem. i'm running a 202 with 200 pro max 24 chopper ss prop. mine only tops out at 60 at 6000rpm.

i have a 1998 202 with a 200 mariner mag efi 12in jackplate 1 3/4in below the pad 25 pitch tempest plus, tournament loaded with two people it will gps mid to low 70's turning 5900-6000 rpms, it will run faster with a good chop on the water, sounds like yall may need to play around with some props and jackplate height

Do you have a jackplate, and if so how high is your motor, and what is your water pressure guage reading. When I first had my 190 Pro-v I was running a 25 tempest at 6400 rpm's with 200 merc. It took plenty boat time to achieve this, it can be done

there canbe many reason why your boat is not hitting low 70's i need to know your exact setup up to help you what kind of jackplate are you running? fuel oct.mixed oil you use ect.

probably need to raise the motor a little, but keep an eye on your water pressure.
