190 setup question

I am currently running a 190 pro-V single console with 225 merc, and Titus lower unit. I am looking at purchasing an over hub prop. I am looking at either a 26 Mazco Re3 or 26 Merc chopper. Never tried an over hub prop before. Can't wait to see the difference. If anyone has other suggestions, I am open to them.

I'm curious....do you have a 2.5 ltr 225 Promax or X....or the 225 3.0 ltr?

i would like to see it perform. I have a 1992 190 pro v single console with a 1991 xr4. It runs really good with a 24 laser 2 WOT 5900.

I have tried the 26 chopper with this setup and it was pretty good, the rpm's were a little high though. I did not have GPS to check the speed, but I turned 6800 rpm and was moving pretty good. My son has a 28 chopper that I am going to try also. I ran the Mazco RE3 27 pitch and rpm's were the same. I was on fishing trip last weekend and propshaft broke, ruined lower unit. I have sportsmaster lower unit on the way. Maybe this will be a little diferent. Right now my motor is 1.5" above the pad.

Well, I have sportsmaster l/u on the boat. My jackplate is now set at 3/4" above the pad, 1-1/2 was a bit high. It runs great. The 26 chopper had one of the blades out a little so I got it worked. Now I have great bow lift, the boat is fun to drive.
