jack plate coming loose

has anyone out there experienced their jack plate loosening and chipping gelcoat? just wondering if i should be re torqing often or just a freak thing

I have not seen anything on mine, and she has been put to the test several times in her 200+ hour young life.

from what i understand, watch it!!! you can notice it on mine badly on the LH bottom corner. the bracket is 1/2" higher on the right side. my boat has 123hrs.

so are you saying it is mounted crooked or it has just loosend and moved that much....got to go check mine

it has got loose on the transom and slid down on one side, actually moving up and down on one side. it started chipping gelcoat! i spoke with george at blazer and he said bring it by and he would tell me if it is warranty. he talked like i should have been checking it constantly. i didn't think to re-torque at my 100hr service. it now has 127hrs on the engine. everyone should check your jackplate
