225 v max motors

any body have any problems with spun props on there motor..i have had mine spin 3 times in the last year just running down the bayou in deep water.....

I had 200 vmax on my old bateau'. I spun a Mich rapture just running in deep water in our Pass. Only time though. Never did it with the yami pro prop though.

what kind of prop? i have never spun one on mine, but i went to flo-torque hub on my mercury prop. everyone is telling me how great they are, looks a little weak to me though.

it is a factory yammie prop 14x23..the guy told me at the prop place it was the heat from the exaust causing it to weaken..so i got a merc mirage prop iam going to try this weekend from one of the guys i tourney fish with..it has the flo-torq hub in it aslo...and he said it is hard to spin it with them..................

I had the same problem. I have a 200 HPDI Yamaha with a 4 blade Yamaha prop. I spun the hub twice. I talked with Bo's prop shop. He said the first time he fixed it, that I might want to look for a 2nd prop. He was right. I only have 72 hours on the motor. It spun the prop at 32 hours the first time and 72 hours the second time, both in deep water. He said the same thing, exhaust heat. I went with the new Mercury Prop. It has a square plastic incert and can be changed out real easy.I have not been able to run the boat for a good test ride, due to work. I still have the 4 blade as a 3rd back up. The 2nd is a new plastic incert. I looked on the boats at the sportsman show and alot of boats still have the old yamaha props.

yea bo worked on mine also...going to run a new prop this weekend to see what it can do....i find it hard to belive about the heat....what did you torq your prop nut to(ft lbs).....

I did not have a torque wrench. Just made it up real tight. I was only able to run it for 30 min. It seams to be OK though.
Also went with a 3 blade prop.

went and ran the prop i got from a friend....22 pitch quicksilver was a 23 had it turned to a 22....great hole shot.gained a few more rpm's and mph.....crusing 42mph 4400 rpm..WOT...5300rpm's 52mph i dont think he is getting it back..going to keep the yammie prop as a extra spare....
