2020?

That sounds about right. When I was looking at various boats, the 150F was my motor of choice for most of my options, but just about every dealer who knew his business felt 52-53 mph was probably going to be the tops for this engine. All agreed that the regular carb 150 or the 150 VMax HPDI would probably get to 55mph goal I was looking for. Since I did not want the carb engine and the 150 HPDI was only available in short shaft, as well as the 175, I went to the 200Z. My previous boat ended up disappointing me with the top end being about 5-8 mph less than I had hoped for and I didn't want to go through all the trouble of rigging and purchasing a new boat to only be possibly disappointed again. Besides, one of the other boats under consideration was the Pathfinder 2000V, and their forum is loaded with disappointment over the fact their owners cannot put a 200 on their boats due to the manufacturer restricting the max hp to 150. I figured here is my chance to have a similar boat and be able to get the 200. I have always been a max hp person anyway. The old "You don't have to use, but it's there if you need or want it."

The test boat I drove with the 150F was green as I said before and my previous boat had the 115F which loosened up around 15- 20 hours, so the numbers you are showing would be what I would expect.

I wonder what this hull would do with a 200 HO ETEC? Not the 2.6L, but the 3.3L.

Gruman,
I think the 2020 with the E-Tec 200 would be a great match and probably run 60mph. I sure would like to get my 2020 running 60mph. I have the 4 stroke Suzuki 175 but think I should have gone with the 200hp. I tried a 4 blade prop. but went back to the 3 blade, not sure of the pitch. I'm running 52 with just me and 3/4 fuel @ 6000rpm.

Speed would be a concern for me as well. 52 isn't anything to sneeze at, but I know how you feel. There will always be that what if? I will be coming out of a bass boat so I know there will be a performance loss, but would like to reach the 60 mph mark if I can.

I was told by our Texas dealer, Ron Hoover Marine, that they ordered a 2020 with a 200 Merc Opti Max and it GPS'ed at 62 mph. That was with one person and about 12 gal. of fuel and no tackle.

Johnnie,
What would your take be on rigging one of these with a Evinrude 200 HO with the 10" Bobs plate?

I think that it would be great, especially if you want to run in the low to mid 60's in a 20 foot boat while standing up behind a console.

True, guess I never though much about the standing up part. Big difference from sitting down in a bass boat.
