Air Valves

Postby todd river » Sat May 24, 2008 7:56 pm

I just wanted to mention, that I noticed one of my tires
on my tandem trailer was flat. I wanted to see if I could
find why it was flat. When I went to fill it with air, I could
feel the air leaking around the valve. It more or less had
dry rotted. The rig is only 2yrs old.

I have a friend who manages a Big 10. When I brought him
the tire, he told me that since it was a high pressure tire it
should have had a metal (brass) valve rather then a rubber
valve. I am going to have to keep a close check on the rest
of them.

My tires came with the trailer, and the air capacity is 50lbs.
