Stereo install

I have a 2220 and am putting a new stereo in with an amplifier. Does anyone have a subwoofer installed and if so where did you put it? I would also like to hear where everyone is mounting their speakers,, console, storage compartments etc???

I have a blazer bay 2400 rolled edge, which limited my places to install. I mounted two of them in the front storage compartment, and the other two in the bottom of the center console on the helm (not the ideal location but previous owner had holes already there). I also installed a 10 inch subwoofer on the port side of the console right in front of the rod holders. Installed both amps and crossover to piece of starboard that mounted to front of console behind seat cushion. I thought this was the best way to install amps for easy access and to guarantee they stayed out of the way. I drilled two holes in starboard so front back rest cover can be removed without bothering amps and all of wiring. Hope this helps. Oh yeah also had to build a box inside of console to house radio, wanted to be able to lock everything up when away. Hope this helps.

my boat came with 2 speakers on each side of the console. this was not enough for me. so i added 4 more. on the font and rear of the console for 360 degree sound. doesent matter where u are in the boat u can hear music loud and clear. and with 6 speakers you almost dont need a sub.

I have a 2400, I put two speakers, one on each side of console. I installed Sony, they sound great but one of them didn't stand up to the weather very long, only had them for 1 year. Can anyone suggest a different speaker that will last.

i use pioneer marine speakers, and they have outlasted 5 stereos in the past 4 years.

infinity marine speakers. by far the best sounding ive heard, and ive listened to quite a few different speakers. ive had mine for 5 years and they still look brand new.
