Garmin 540s with xm weather

Has anybody tried the xm weather on a Garmin 540s. I recently ordered the gxm 31 antenna and cable, but have not had the chance to hook it up. Starting to wonder if it is even worth fooling with the boat since BP has ruined our summer down here on the Gulf Coast!

The xm may be good but the new blue chart software is terrible. Inshore reefs in the Galveston Bay system are not even shown. My old unit that used the G1 software was 10xs user friendly. Garmin has taken a step bac kward. When you start a unit it should open showing your Locpation not menu that takes 5 or 6 strokes to get to a map of your location. I hate my Garmin
