Blazer Bay 2400 Question

I am currently looking at a 2003 2400 that I can get for around $19K with trailer. The only issue with this boat is it is underpowered. For some reason it was rigged wih a 140 HP Suzuki. Just from looking at the blazer bay website the current year 2400 is saying min horsepower of 200. During the test run it ran 30 knots wide open at 6300 RPM and cruised nicely at 20 knots at 4200 RPM. Just wanted to get some other peoples thoughts on how this boat being underpowered effects the value and if this could cause other issues such as excessive wear and tear on the motor. From my calculations book value of this rig is in the mid 20's so it seems like a pretty good deal. Thoughts? - JT

not sure if you looked at the one one i have for sale.
but this boat has the 250 and is loaded with all options.
after owning a boat of this size i would not go with a smaller motor.

When I bought mine a long time ago (actually a 23 kenner) it had a 175 evinrude ficht. the boat performed well. The motor blew and I repowered with a used yamaha hpdi 200. Boat did fine topped out at @ 40. Same as ficht. That motor blew and I was finally able to repower with a new 225 yamaha four stroke. This is the perfect engine for the boat in my opinion. With any load at all besides yourself you will need a bigger motor.
