new to me 2220 pro

Picked up an 07 2220 pro today. Hp rating says "unlimited" boat has a 175 zuke. Gets on plane quick. Tops out @ 50. Have never seen an unlimited rating before? We'll see how she does over the summer. Anyway, I'll post up some fishing and spear fishing reports when I get out.

I wonder what I am doing wrong. I keep reading all these posts with boats going 45 - 55 mph. I have a 2220 Pro with a 200 Yamaha. I am lucky to get 38 with a half a tank a gas. I am a new boater...so I wonder what I am doing wrong.

? It has a four blade prop, I can get on plane with the jack plate all the way up and run with it up. I got 44 with four adults and two kids yesterday, cooler full of ice and drinks, dive gear etc... Will hit 6200 rpm when jp is up and trimmed out.

Itsaboattime, you might want to check your rpm with a light load. If you have the Yam 4 stroke you should turn approx. 6000 rpm at wot. You may have the wrong size prop and pitch. Also trim the motor up some after you get off plane.

Butch, I actually just left you a message....I have an unrelated question. I just got back from filling up and my switch panel appears to have no power. Acc, Bildge, lights, etc....

Before I start to go trouble shoot in the 100 degree weather, I wanted to find out if there is a main fuse that runs all the switches on the panel. Stereo, bidge, acc, the entire switch panel will not come on.

Is there a main fuse from the battery, if so, is it near the battery or under the console.

I would greatly appreciate a few pointers before I start searching. The fish are calling my name early tomorrow morning!

I fixed it.....found a 10a fuse that was corroded. Whewhooo!

So....with a full tank of gas, 2 people, and fishing gear; At WOT I was able to reach 5800 rpm and 44 mph. Considering the weight, I guess that is pretty good for a 4 blade prop 200 yam.
