transducer location on transom

Can someone please tell me or show me where you mounted your transducer on the transom please. ?
before I go drilling. thanks

I would follow the instructions that came with the fishfinder or see if you can use it as a thru hull transducer or purchase one so you don't have to drill any holes in the transom of your boat.

well thats just it. I just bought a lowrance hds8 and it only gives "general" locations suggested for the transducer. I was just curious where everyone had thiers mounted.

I have a Lowrance HDS5 with the transducer mounter 1 1/2 inches above the bottom of the transom. I have been having a lot of problems with the sonar loosing contact with the sea floor at or above 10 mph, so I am having a thru the hull transducer installed this week. From what I have read and been told this will eliminate the loss signal problem.
