Changing to a 50/200 transducer

I am swapping to a dual freq transducer. From what I understand, you can't use a dual freq as a shoot thru transducer. Before I had a single freq shoot thru. Where can I mount the new transducer? Looks like I might have to put it way out on the rear chine. I dunno! If I put it in the area below the jack plate I can see I will have problems with turbulence from the dead rise of the hull in front of it. Therefor not getting a reading under way. What do you guys think?

ran out of time, so i went ahead and epoxied the skimmer to the inside of the hull in the same place the pod was mounted. i will see how well it can work with split freqs tomorrow. if it doesn't work i guess i will be buying another monday. i think my only other option is to mount it under the boat against the front of the pocket. i will post results.

it worked good in 200, but not near as clear in 50. it held the bottom @ 50mph.
