2220 Top Speed

To anyone out there with a 2220. What is your top speed and what motor are you running?

i have a 2220 PRO with a 225HO E-TEC and light load it will do 59mph (gps)
with a normal fishing load it will do about 56gps

my uncle has a 2220 fisherman with a 200 V MAX with a light load it do 51gps

I have a 2220 PRO with a 250 Yamaha VMAX series II. with light load and about 20 gallons of gas it will GPS at 64 MPH with fishing load 60 gallons of fuel and 4 people 57MPH.

depends on what prop and load i am running. i have hit 65mph gps, once... that was running down river from whites to the swamp house, no load - no fuel - no trolling motor on the front. i think i also had a 30 mph north wind at my back as well.

current top speed @ last shotgun was 61mph totally loaded, gear - fuel - 2 people - live well - extra 90qt. cooler full - 36v trolling rig... pretty heavy!!!
prop was a blueprinted 26p tempest plus.

I've run mine 66 mph before testing out a prop(just me, about 50 gallons of gas, trolling motor) but the prop had no hole shot. I settled on a Tempest plus 23 pitch. In the CCA tourney we were loaded down pretty good and was running between 61-63 depending on the wind.

i think most of the speed issue depends on water conditions. i know if it is dead ass slick, it is hard to break 60mph. it has to be atleast a a little choppy to get up into the mid sixties. you have to get some air under the hull, or else its very sticky...

i have a 2220 pro with a 200 vmax ox66 and i can get 54 gps with two on board and gear, running four blade 21p@5100 rpm, think i need to drop some pitch

I have a 2220 fisherman and have a 200 vmax ox66 w no jack plate and can only get 50-51 on the gps.23pitch prop and turns 5800-6000 rpms if you are not careful.My trim is almost useless as it starts blowing out after you trim it just a hair.I was coming through the pass in 2-3 foot chop and it was blowing out like crazy!I was told to get a jack plate but my motor needs to go down not up and everything I read says it wont help my problem because they only adjust up.I want to put a fixed jack plate on because once i get it to where it is working right,and I can use my trim like I should, I would not fool with it.Another Blazer owner told me to put a 6inch plate and mount the cavitation plate on the motor a carpenters level lower than the lowest part of the boat.I hear about all these 60mph plus speeds and feel like my boat is not being all it can be.

Any Suggestions anyone?

Different prop?

you need a bob's 10" hyd. jackplate, it will cure your blowout issue. this will help your speed as well.
