2010 Blazer Bay 1960 performance, feel, pros, and cons.

i just bought a brand new 2010 Blazer Bay 1960. I love the boat. I have a friend that has a 2008 model. I really liked his boat and discided to get me one. His rear live well is located in the center of the back deck. The 2010 rear live well is off to the port side. This creates listing to port when it is plugged and filled. Is anyone experiencing this problem?

This might not be a change for the better! Do you have Trim Tabs? Tabs can change the ride of the boat, especially to compensate for a load and weight distribution.

No don't have trim tabs. I wouldn't think i would need to add trim tabs to compensate for a design issue. After all it's a Brand new boat.

Not sure if this is a design issue, as you change the weight/load on one side of the boat you will get a list to that side. I would invest in a set of Lenco Trim tabs and enjoy your boat and the water .

trim tabs make all the difference....no matter what boat you own be it 18' or 118' trim tabs make the ride alot better, you can adjust for wind and water spray, number of people in boat, overall load in the boat...its not the design...i have a 2220 pro and i have a livewell and a release well in the back, bad design? nope but where else can you put it...you have a limited amount of space on the boat...did you sea trial the boat? if not then you really cant complain about it because that would have been something to look at and figure into you descision

I would add a dual battery switch and a second battery to the starboard side, this will counter balance the water in the live well. the reason we moved the live well was for easier access to the bilge area, the lack of abiliaty to reach any pumps or fitting or even the fuel/water seprator was the only complaint we had with this boat,we change the lay out to make this better for the customers and dealer service departments.

That does make since. I did wonder how the pumps, etc. could be accessed with the live well in the center. The extra battery could be used for a sterio system or what ever. One other thing. When I ordered my new boat it was supposed to come with a 74 qt cooler seat with a flip/flop back rest, instead blazer bay decided to install a seat with an ice chest below the seat that you have to wrestle out from under the seat to get to it. Can you tell me why in the world they would do that? And why in the world that would be acceptable when you advertise the other? My dealer is looking into that now.

make sure your dealer listed that on the order sheet, the seat they installed is standard in that boat. not only will the dual battery help with the stereo and balance, it insures you that you can get back to the hill if the #1 battery dies, i would not have a boat with out a dual system.

I already feel better about this. and your right about the dual system and getting back to the hill. And i guess i probably should have trim tabs too. As far as the cooler seat. all of the brochures and the blazer boat web site list this 74 qt cooler seat as standard equipment. As far as the seat that came with the boat I am very disapointed in this. The seat is too low to have an ice chest below it. You have got to get it all the way out from under neath the seat to open it. If it's full of ice and drinks this is a wrestle. An embarrassing wrestle.

where did you purchase your boat? as far as trim tabs they are great for leveling a load or keeping the bow down in rough chop.
