Looking for 1960 feedback

I'm really thinking hard about getting a 1960. Looking for some feedback. Seeing alot of them with the Yamaha 115 4-stroke. Is that enough power? What kind of price am I looking at for this boat with the 115, aluminum trailer and trolling motor? How much more for a 150 HPDI? For those who own it....how do you like it? Is it a dry or wet boat?

The things I considered when I bought my 18'6" BB w\150 HP Yamaha

1.I have two guys I fish with regularly. My boat CAN fish 4 but it is really too tight. If I could have bought a bigger
boat, I would have. The problem was that I wanted to fit my boat into my garage, which is 20x20. Which by the way
has kept my boat literally 'like new' for almost 10 years now.

2.You do not have to worry about having 'enough' boat to handle the rough water. My 18'6" handles waves better than the 24' baystealth at the camp and it is a drier ride because of the rolled edge design.

3.My boat came rigged with a 115 HP yamaha but is rated for a 150....so I got the 150hp.....best decision I ever made.
I have all the power I need and then some. When running from bad weather, there is no substitute for speed. I get 55mph with the 150.

- Regardless of what boat you get, I recommend a LONG shaft trolling motor (at least 55lbs thrust)
- I also recommend the Lowrance LMS 520C integrated GPS|Sonar unit

So if you don't plan on fishing more than 3-4 guys and speed is not all that big a deal, stay with the 115hp and go for it! I am extremely satisfied with my 18'6" so you should be very pleased with the 1960. But if your like me and you like a little zip
I would get the 150hpdi.

Did you look at the 2020? It has more storage and the lockable rod storage is great. Also I have the leaning post that has a flip up cushion with a tray underneith which I use for my tackle storage. A 70 qt. Igloo ice chest fits perfect under the leaning post. With a 80 lb thrust trolling motor, Lorance LMS520C DC sonor/plotter you will be ready to go. Its a very dry riding boat.
Good Luck with whatever you get and if your budgit allows, go with maximum HP motor.

I just bought a 1960 - it is an extremely dry boat and has more than ample room for two when fishing. My friend and I just took it out for it's first fishing trip. My friend commented on how much more room the boat had then he expected (he owns a Blazer 2170).

I have a Mercury 150 EFI on my 1960. Comes out of the hole lightning fast and with two of us, I could cruise at 3/4 throttle at 45 MPH. If I had a nickel every time I said "I'm so glad I got the 150 on this boat" during that trip, I would probably have enough money to pay my boat off!
