I have a 2400 is is an awsome boat, I did alot of research , when I saw one and got in it, I knew I had to have one. there are not many used one's out there that I have seen. I got lucky I got the one that Eric Anderson had as a demo, he used to be a moderator on here or something. It has a 175 suzuki. Sometimes I wish that I could move faster, but not often, seems to be a good motor. It runs about 45 WOT. It is a very roomy boat, I have been to South Pass out of Venice and also Shallow marsh. I had a Skeeter before that, I didn't think that I would like anything as much as the skeeter, but I like it better. Good Luck finding one.

thanks man
They are a very hard boat to find used.
i went to G&F last weekend to price a new one. I am torn between Yam 250 4 stroke, Yam 300 HPDI, 250 ETC.
You said that you go out of south pass. I am looking to use this boat for marsh fishing and rig fishing and diving no more than 30 miles out on a good day. How does the boat handle offshore seas. Nothing big just something like 2-4's
have you ever been offshore in seas like this?
My email address is todd.matherne@oilstates.com
thanks for any info

i have been in 2-4 seas once in my 2220  , then i turned around. it wasn't really that bad, didn't really get as wet as expected. the boat floats like a cork, but can you ride a cork in 4-6' seas :o

not looking to go out in 4-6's but if i get caught in them it's go to know that you will make it back without causing to much damage to your equipment.
Does any one have performance numbers with the 2400 and a 250 4 stroke or the 300 HPDI?

Never been in 4ft seas with the 2400, don't know if I would want to, I have been in 2.5ft on the inside bays, It wasn't a bad ride, I would not go offshore in seas that high. I have a 25ft jefferson skiff that I put a front cabin on, no motor at the moment, I fish West Delta with it, I would not hesitate to go out there on a good day with the 2400.

i know a guy here in pensacola that is running a 2420 w/300 hpdi - 10" bob's jack plate - no t- top - running 64-67 depending on load. i have a 2220 pro w, vz300 hpdi - 10" jack plate - no t-top and i run in the mid sixtys depenging on load as well. the hpdi has great fuel economy, i would look hard at the 2 stroke. look at the cost of maintenance for a 3 year period.

i went to yamha's website and they do not show the 300 HPDI any more. I heard that the only way to get one is to buy a 2007.
i am trying to find a YAM rep to talk to. Do you know if this is true?
the shop i am thinking of buying from, has a 2400 with the 250 4 stroke getting a t-top put on right now. I hope to see how this boat runs before i decide
what to do. Top end speed is not my biggest concern. If i can cruise around 45 not burning a ton of fuel. that would be my goal.
My dad has a 300HPDI gets good fuel economy put he keeps filing the bottom 2 plugs. thats the only issue he has had.

if do alot of idleing you will foul a couple plugs every now and then, do to the engine dropping 2 cyl. when at idle. the oil pump is still oiling those cyl. hence the fouledge. i have never had a problem fouling on mine. i do love the fact i can run 45mph @ 4000 rpm, that dude ain't even breakin' a sweat! as for the v-max 300 being discontinued, i hadn't heard. i'm sure some one will give you the scoop.
