rod holder drains for the center console

i know this was posted before but what did everybody use to setup a drain system for the rod holders in the center console????

Well I did mine with a trip to home depot. Picked up some pipe caps, plastic T's, clear hose, and a hose fitting I used for a bulkhead/drain fitting.
Tooth pick was used to jam the caps on as the silicone sealant dried. Cut the T fittings push on hose fitting off the center and glued them in the pipe caps with 5200, keeping it flush with the inside of the cap so not to hold water.

i just order my Blazer. I did not look insdie the console. Do the rod holders drain straight into the console in the newer boats?

In my 07 2420,the rod holders are plumbed to the bilge but the cup holder has a 1/4 inch hole in the bottom that drains straight into the console. Also water leaks around switch panel and / or glove box. I was told that the console was not designed to be dry, but yet they went to the trouble and expense to plumb the rod holders!!! The rod holders would get nothing wet except the floor, but the switch panel soaks everything including the switches and wiring. GO figure!!

I recently bought a 08 2170 and the console leaked everywhere. With a couple tubes of silicone and a trip or two to lowes to get parts i fixed all the leaks. You would think payin as much as we did for the boats they would take some of our comments and suggestions into consideration into the manufacturing process. Especially the laeking around the gauges onto the wires and switches.
