210 with 225 HPDI...expected speed?

I have a 210 with a 225 HPDI. I've owned the boat for right at a year and cannot get the boat over 71 mph (GPS) by myself. The boat is tournament loaded, but this still seems a little slower than other posts I've read on these boats. Not really a speed freak usually, since I almost ALWAYS have kids with me. I am getting into more tournaments now, though, and couldn't live with a Skeeter leaving me behind. I fish out of Kilgore bass club, which is Skeeter's hometown. 10 of 17 boats are Skeeters in the club. Any pointers or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

what is your rpm,s? what prop are you turning?don,t want you following no skeeter

Prop is a Power Tech 4-blade, 25-pitch. RPM's at 5900 (all I can get). Not sure of propshaft to pad height, or even how to accurately get the measurement.

I think your problem is motor hight. Check your water pressure guage and see if you have good pressure. If you do jack your motor up a little at a time until you loose water pressure. When you do come back down a nouch and run it to see what your presure is. You need al lease 12 to 15 lbs. of pressure at WOT. Also if you know some buddies with a blazer boat check out their settings. Play around with props as well. Try some Mercury props like a 26 trophy or tempest. Let me know how it works out. You should be running at lease 75 to 78 mph.

Just bought a 27 T-1 prop and am going to try it out this week. Also just got the water pressure gauge hooked up so I can tell what kind of pressure I'm getting during all this. I'll keep in touch for more advice. Already tried out a Trophy 26 but it was put on with the wrong spacer. Tore up my bearing carrier and drive belt and idler pulley for direct injection...benn in the shop on and off for 2 months. Costly mistake to say the least. Prop guy didn't check it when he changed prop....and I didn't know to check it out

Your rig should run around 73-75 tourney loaded with 2 people. Start with your motor height at an 1.5in. below the pad and come up till you lose water pressure or gain rpms and lose speed. I would also try a 25 T-1 and a 25 Turbo TXP.
