Late report for this past Friday and Saturday from the Beach. Both days I had the pleasure of fishing with two different father and son teams. The conditions for both days were very windy. Friday we started out fishing the lee shore of Lake Bornge with plastics under a cork. The bite was slow, but the Trout were nice sized. The wind started shifting and picking up so we moved over to the Hopedale side of the MRGO drifting lagoons picking away at the rout. We ended up with 36 Trout and 4 Reds.

Saturday we started out looking for some Trout drifting lagoons and broken marsh fishing with Bayou Chubs under a cork. We got on a few Trout early, but the action would stop as soon as it would start. We would move to another area, make a drift and catch a few more. Each time we tried a second drift through an area the bites were few. We made switch to Reds and fished a few points with dead shrimp under a cork. They had a blast and put some nice Reds in the box. Total for the day was 29 Trout, 13 Reds, 1 Drum and 1 Flounder.

WE HAVE 4 BOATS WAITING TO TAKE YOU ON YOUR NEXT FISHING ADVENTURE. OUR LODGE SLEEPS 19 ANGLERS, just steps from the boats. Check out the photos of the quality fish we have been on. Give us a call at 504 887 4960 or 504 881 9966 (cell). You'll be glad that you did!!

Monday report from the Beach. I had the pleasure of fishing with Omar once again. He is from San Diego and has fished with me several times before. Gary also was onboard with us. The wind was blowing out the NE when we pulled out so we hit the marsh looking for some Reds. At our first stop the guys put 6 nice Reds in the boat fishing with Campo’s live minnows under a cork. About 8:30 the wind died out and the gnats went crazy. We high tailed it out of there and headed for the Sound. We made a couple of stops and filled the box to the top with Reds and Heads, releasing a bunch more. It was a great day filled with big fish and fun. Total for the day was 7 Reds, 30 Sheepshead, 1 Drum, 1 Trout, and 1 Flounder.

Spring is here and the action is great. The Trout are gearing up and the Sound is loaded with big fish when conditions permit. Campo’s is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and the newly improved back down ramps are open. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo’s is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. Very nice over night accommodations are available. 504-439-1680.

Big fun on the Beach Wednesday. My crew for the day was Eric, Andrew, Shawn, and Richard. The winds gave us a break and we were able to hit the Sound. Our first couple of stops were a little slow with plenty of hardheads. We hopped around and got on a good bite. Fishing with dead shrimp on a jighead the big Sheepshead and Reds were giving the guys a workout. We filled the box to the top then headed a little closer in and picked up a few nice Trout to top off the box. The guys had a blast and headed home with a bunch of great eating fillets.

Late report from Monday. My crew was Pat Comiskey, his son Brian, and Dan Barns. Great guys that nave fished with me before. We made a stop by Campo’s and they still had some cast net caught live shrimp. Good thing they did too. The Trout only wanted the shrimp. We had some croakers, but never found any fish that wanted them. We caught pretty Trout at every stop with the live shrimp free lined out in the Sound. The guys had a blast and put 75 nice Trout, 2 Sheepshead, and 1 Drum on ice. Could not have asked for a better day on the Beach.

The fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding and it is prime Trout time. Campo’s is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and two down ramps. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo’s is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. Hot fun on the Beach last week. Wednesday I had Jim Walther and crew. I picked the guys up at Jim’s camp and off to the Sound we went. We made a stop in Eloi and got a good Trout bite. Once this bite died off we went further out and got on a steady bite on some big Trout. With a few short of your limits and the bite fading we called it a day and headed in with the box stuffed with Trout, 2 Reds, 3 Flounder, and few Heads.

Friday Brodie brought 2 clients from Japan down to Shell Beach to show them what Louisiana fishing was all about, and they had a blast. There was a little wind blowing early so we stopped off in Eloi and found some good Trout at a small wellhead. The wind let up a little so we headed out to the Sound to look for a few bigger fish. We made several moves and never did get on a good bite, but picked up several nice Trout at each stop. The guys also got to wrestle with some big Reds and Drum that gave them a work out. We worked our way back in Eloi and got a fast Trout bite. The action was hot and so were the guys. With 90 Trout, 2 Reds, and a few Heads in the box we called it a day and headed for the A/C.

Sunday I had Charles and his son Kevin, along with Ray, Gary, and Vince. We were greeted by a strong west wind as we hit Eloi. We bounced our way out to a platform where the Trout were stacked up two days before. Well they did not stick around. Without a bite we made a move and found a slow but steady bite. The bite eventually slowed up and the White Trout and trash took over. We made several more moves trying to stay out the wind and found lots of Trout, just not a lot of keepers. Plenty action and the guys did put some good ones on ice while picking away at them till all 350 shrimp were gone. Total was 60 Trout and 20 or so White Trout and Channels.

The fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding and it is prime Trout time. Campo’s is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and two down ramps. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo’s is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters. Late report for Thursday from the Beach. I picked up Jim Walther and the rest of his crew, Chris, Ernie, and David from Jim’s camp. We headed out to the Sound and got on a slow but steady bite of some nice Trout fishing with Campo’s live shrimp on a light Carolina rig. The action would start and stop then start again. We stuck with it till it died out with over 90 Trout on ice. We made a move closer in and picked up some more Trout before calling it a day with 104 and headed in early.

Late report from last week with Jim Walther. I picked Jim and his friends Clint and Bucky from Jim’s camp. Armed with Campo’s live shrimp and croakers we headed over to an island in Machias that has been holding some good Trout. The guys put a few in the boat, but never could get them going. From there we headed all over Black Bay picking up one or two here and there. By now we were running low on shrimp, but had a ton of croakers. We needed to find some croaker hungry Trout. We made a stop near Battledore and found the big Trout we were looking for. Only problem was the Reds were thick. One Red even ate two baits and had both hooks from Clint and Bucky in his mouth. The guys put some nice Trout in the box between Redfish assaults. Out of bait we headed to the house with 70 pretty Trout, 2 Reds, and 1 Head.

The fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding and the best fishing time of the year is just ahead. The Fall fishing in Shell Beach is as good as it gets. I still have some open dates in September and October. Campo’s is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and two back down ramps. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo’s is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. Very nice over night accommodations are available. 504-439-1680.

Nice catch their Capt. Rory. I like the part about the Red fish on 2 hooks at once.
When fishing off of my dock at night, sometimes after hooking a trout, another trout will try and pull the lure out of its mouth. Its funny watching 2 or 3 fish fight for the same bait.
I'm heading to Delacroix (interior marsh) tomorrow morning but may venture out to Black Bay. We caught some fish last week around Crooked Bayou area. Can't wait till the big girls show up inside.

Fun Sunday on the Beach. Jim Fairbairn and his two sons were my crew for the day. They knew we were looking at some not so good conditions, but still wanted to give it a shot since they were in town from Houston and had nothing better to do. To our surprise the sky was mostly clear and the wind not bad. We started out in Machias and got a few good Trout. When this bite died we headed out and hit a few rigs in Black Bay and the Sound with no luck. By now there were storms building and we had to run around a few to get back into the marsh. The guys caught lots of fish as the action was fast. Only thing lots of under sized Trout and Reds, with some good ones mixed in. They had a blast with every cast action till we were out of bait and worn out taking home 41 Trout and 7 Reds.

Late report for Saturday at the Beach. Krass DeGorge brought a couple of his friends down for a day of fishing. I picked them up at his brother’s Camp and we headed over to Lake Machias. Fishing with Campo’s live shrimp under a cork the guys got on a good trout bite. The Trout were nice and fat 16”-18” fish. Once this bite faded we made a few moves and found some more Trout. The guys had a blast and put together a nice box of fish. Total for the day was 95 Trout, 6 Reds, 2 Drum and 1 Head.

The fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding and the fall fishing is on fire. The next three months will be some of the best fishing of the year. There are still some open dates so book yours soon. Campo’s is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and two back down ramps. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo’s is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters. Very nice over night accommodations are available. 504-439-1680.
