Trolling motor for 2220

Just purchased a lightly used 2220 Fisherman last week. I need to make it a little more fishing friendly, and will start with a trolling motor. My salesman has a 24 foot Blazer Bay, and he recommends the 62" shaft. It looks to me like that will block access to one of our storage lockers, so I'm leaning towards the Minn Kota Riptide 80 with the 52" shaft. Also, BB says this is the length they ordinarily mount on boats like mine. Opinions?

That's what they recommend but if you troll inside the marsh as much as I do that's not enough motor. I have the 2200 and yours is a little heavier than mine. I had to upgrade because by lunch time my batteries would be too weak. I have the 60"shaft with 109 lb thrust 36 volt Motorguide and can troll all day. Whichever brand you choose just go with the biggest one and you won't be disappointed.

if you dont spend alot of time trolling then the 80lb 24V will probably be enough.

my uncle has a 2220 fish with a 24V 80lb minn kota. if there is a 5-10mph wind or current that hes fighting, his motor will die around lunch time.

i have a 2220 pro with a 36V 101lb minn kota. ive gone on 2 day trips fighting wind and current with no problem. and the extra power is great to power through grass.

Thanks for the responses. Ordered the 80# Minn Kota yesterday. We only fish a day or so a week, and will only use the TM to get into flats we can't access with the motor.
