Skeg Guard

Whats up fellas,
New to the forum, blazer bay 2020 with 150 etec. Was wondering if any one knows about pros and cons of installing a skeg guard,If so what type works best? Always in shallow water and skeg is wearing down thin.

black fin skeg works great no drilling and just epoxy it on..you can go to there web site and it shows you how to install it...very easy.

I checked out the blackfin skeg but was not to keen on the plastic

i have run thru some nasty oysters and had no problems with it..a few scratches but that is it....it is some baaaaaadddd stuff....

I recently damaged my skeg in some shallow water. The skeg can be cut off and a new one can be welded on and repainted for about $150 dollars. It will look like it came from the factory. I've done alot of research on skeg guards and there are all different models and installation methods. My take is this. Its there for a reason and if you install a stainless guard its not gonna give like the aluminum, hence BYE BYE lower unit. Just my opinion on the stainless skeg guard.
