Sunday report from the Beach. Onboard for the day were Clifford Ward and his son Ross. The wind was blowing from the west, but not too bad as we headed out into the Sound. At out first stop things started off slow till the big Reds showed up. After releasing the biggest and keeping a couple of the smaller ones we moved on. Got to the next rig and got into a good but short bite on some very nice Trout with Bayou Chubs and live shrimp under a cork. Next stop was instant monster Reds so we moved on. By now the wind was picking up and made it tough to get in a good position at our next stop, but on the second try we got on top of them and it was a blast. Here we fished with live shrimp and Bayou chubs on a Carolina rig. Big Trout were coming to the net along with a bunch of Sheepshead. We also caught and released a 15” Red Snapper while catching the Trout. The fish box was cram packed with fish and we had a long rough boat ride into the wind ahead so we called it a day and left them biting. The guys had a great time and went home with a cooler full of fillets. Total take home for the day was 50 Trout (2-4 pounds), 17 Heads, 4 Reds, and 2 Drum.

WE HAVE 4 BOATS WAITING TO TAKE YOU ON YOUR NEXT FISHING ADVENTURE. OUR LODGE SLEEPS 19 ANGLERS, just steps from the boats. Check out the photos of the quality fish we have been on. Give us a call at 504 887 4960 or 504 881 9966 (cell). You'll be glad that you did!!

Big fun and big Trout Saturday at the Beach. Drew Frank and his girlfriend Connie came down for a day on the water. Armed with live shrimp, on went the radar and into the foggy Sound we went. Our first stop yielded only 1 Trout, a Shark, and a UFO. Got to our second stop and started to put some fish in the boat. There were some good Trout there, but the Drum and Sheepshead were eating up. With the Trout not coming in fast enough a made a cast out away from where they usually are on this rig, and bam, Trout on. Told Drew and Connie to cast the other direction and it was on. By the time our limits were filled I had to stand on the fish box to close the lid. It was a pretty day and a fun time fishing with Drew again. Total for the day was 75 Trout (2-4 pounds), 8 Drum, 1 Red, 12 Sheepshead, and 2 Flounder.

The Trout are on and the fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding. Campo’s is open with fuel, bait, ice, and the newly improved back down ramps are open. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo’s is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. Very nice over night accommodations are avalible. 504-439-1680.

Sunday fun at the Beach. Onboard were John and Jennifer Defrances. As we hit the Sound it was slick as glass. No wind and the tide was dead still. At our first stop both John and Jennifer were immediately hooked up with some monster fish. Big Drum and big Reds were giving them a work out. After catching and releasing a bunch of them we left the monsters to look for some Trout. We found some Trout at each stop, but never could get on a good bite going. There were lots of trash fish around mixed with the Trout. They put together a good box of fish and had a great time in the blazing sun. Total for the day was 35 Trout, 3 Reds, and 12 Sheepshead.

Good day at the Beach. Today I had Mike and Robin Arnold onboard. We headed out into the Sound and had a slow start. We made lots of moves picking up a few fish at each, but could not get a good bite going. They did have some fun doing battle with some monster Drum and Reds while picking away at the Trout. At our last stop we got on a good bite and the Trout were eating up. It took a while to find them, but when we did it was fast limits of pretty Trout. They had a great time catching a lot of fish. Total for take home for the day was 75 Trout, 4 Reds, 10 Sheepshead, and 2 Drum.

Tons of fun and fish Thursday on the Beach. My guest were Bob Bell and his son Mathew from Vicksburg, MS. At our first stop in the Sound we got on a good Trout bite fishing with a live shrimp and minnows under a cork. Mathew was on fire and was constantly hooked up with a Trout. He even managed to pull a few good keeper reds into the boat. Once the bite slowed down Bob said he wanted to catch a big Redfish. We moved to a favorite rig of mine for Reds and in minutes they both were hooked up with some monsters. They kept one of the smaller ones and let the other Gorillas go. From here went moved to another rig and picked up some more nice Trout and a bunch of Sheepshead. We needed another 11 Trout to finish off our limits so we stopped back over where we started out and the Trout were eating up. In a few minutes limits were done and the fish box was over flowing. Total take home for the day was 75 Trout, 6 Reds, 17 Heads, and 1 Flounder.

Fun fishing last Friday on the Beach. WT Myers, his daughter Judy, and granddaughters Temple and Hope were my guests for the day. We headed out to Bay Eloi and got on a slow, but steady bite of some nice Trout fishing with live minnows under a cork. We made a couple of moves catching Trout at each. The bite would start and stop, then start again. Temple had the catch of the day with a Bobtail Trout. Something bit its tail off and it had healed over. It looked more like a speckled eel than a Trout. They had a great time putting 75 Trout on ice.

Three day report from the Beach. On Sunday I had Andre Barron and his son Jarred on the boat. It was slick calm out in the Sound, but the water was dirty. We made couple of stops and put some quality Trout in the boat on what little live shrimp we were able to get. We came in and fished in Eloi and got on a good bite of Trout on the minnows. They had a great time and brought back 60 Trout, 1 Red, 1 Drum, and 2 Sheepshead.

Monday I had Tommy Morrison, Paul Kunce, Scott Collins, and Kyle Collins. At our first stop the Trout were eating up and the guys put over 40 Trout in the boat fast, then the bite stopped. We hopped around Eloi picking up one here and one there. At our last stop we caught a couple of Trout, but it was slow. You could see shrimp popping in the water and I knew once the tide would start to move the Trout would turn on. As I thought the Trout turned on and the action was fast. The guys had a blast outing 117 Trout and 1 Red on ice.

Tuesday Leo Richly, his son Connor, and David Faust were onboard. The wind was blowing from the south so we stayed in close in Eloi. The guys had some decent action early on some very nice Trout with minnow under a cork. Once this action stopped we made several moves and did manage to find some big Trout at one rig. The action was slow, but the Trout were very nice. The fish never did turn on, but they a good time catching 35 quality Trout and 1 Red.

Sunday fun on the Beach. My brother Stan brought Terry Stupp of CUI Products in Oklahoma down to the Beach to put some of the custom rods that he makes for me to the test. Lance Williams, Ken StPe and his son Luke joined them. The wind that had blowing for the past few days finally laid down enough for us to get out into the Sound. At our first stop the guys started putting some pretty Trout in the boat fishing with live shrimp on the bottom. There also were a few big Reds mixed in to bend the poles and make the reels scream. This bite eventually shut down so we made several moves picking up a few fish at each stop. The guys had a great time putting together a good box of fish, 75 Trout, 2 Reds, 1 Drum, and 6 Sheepshead.

Good day Tuesday on the Beach. I had the pleasure of fishing with Jim Doles, his dad Ellis, and his son James. We headed out to the Sound with a well full of Campo’s live shrimp and a few croakers. Our first 2 stops were duds, but at the third stop the guys put some nice Trout in the boat. We had a good bite going till the tide slacked up and the wind shifted slightly. We had to reposition the boat and could not get them going again. We then made a couple of moves and picked up a few fish at each. One more move a little closer in and it was on. They put good Trout in the boat till we ran out of bait. By this time it was hot and time to call it a day, and a good one it was. The guys had a blast putting 65 Trout, 1 Red, and 7 Sheepshead on ice.

Fast and fun Wednesday on the Beach. Jerry Haydel, his daughter Carrie, and her son Steven were onboard. Steven is 9 years old and we may have spoiled him for life. It was fast as you could cast action at our first stop. The Trout were very aggressive and slamming the Campo’s live shrimp under a cork. By 8:15 we had filled our limits, and headed for the house just in time to beat the heat and the rain. Total for the day was 100 Trout, 2 Drum, and 2 Flounder.
