From High Performance Bass Boats to Offshore and Bay Boats: Boating Resolutions for 2023

As an avid Florida boater, it makes sense that boating is a big part of your life. You likely had some amazing adventures in 2022, whether it included taking fast bass boats out for a spin, getting some new boat tech, or purchasing your first 2420 GTS.

But time marches on, and now is the time to get everything ready for the new year and set some goals for the 2023 boating season.

From Fast Bass Boats to Dreamy Sailboats: Boating Resolutions for 2023

Anything goes when it comes to making New Year’s resolutions for boaters. Whether you have a long list of resolutions to follow through on in the upcoming year or just want to focus on one or two, there are plenty of things you can do to make 2023 the best boating season yet.

Here are a handful of ideas to get you started.

Practice Random Acts of Boating Kindness

If you’ve ever participated in a paying-it-forward routine (or even if you haven’t), you probably know it often doesn’t cost anything to be nice. For example, let another boater go ahead of you when you’re at the ramp or offer to help catch someone’s dock lines as they enter the slip.

Organize Your Boating Equipment (All of It!)

Make it a point to sort through that lump of tangled boating supplies in your garage. Coil lines, stow your PFDs, and tidy up the interior of your craft. You’ll be glad you did when you’re ready to take it out for the first cruise of the season.

Check Your Flares

Did you know emergency flares are only good for 42 months after manufacturing? Check the dates on your flares and replace any set to expire soon with U.S. Coast Guard-approved flares.

Do More Boating

Make a commitment to get out on the water more often in the new year. Choose one day each month to get out on the water and mark those days well ahead of time to make sure nothing conflicts with your outing.

Treat Yourself to a New Boat

Whether you’ve always been the proud owner of the best bass boats in the harbor or you’ve been holding on to that “oldie-but-goodie” for quite a while, 2023 may be the year you treat yourself to a new vessel.

Improve Your Boating Skills

This year, focus on improving at least one maritime skill. Maybe you are not so great at navigating using a compass or have trouble backing into a slip. Here is your opportunity to get better.

Whether you want to try out a new watersport, reduce your waste while on the water, or embark on a grand adventure, now is the time to conjure up some New Year’s resolutions for 2023.
