The 2600 Makaira is designed with family in mind. The front deck features a large seating area centered around a table, turning your day on the water into a comfortable picnic. Across from this lounge space is an additional seat that doubles as a cooler, a design that encourages round-table conversations about your day’s catch as you head back to the dock after a successful day on the water. Additionally, there is a rod locker to either side of the cooler seat, each with the capacity to carry five rods. With additional rod storage located in the hull to either side of the boat, there is plenty of space for everyone to bring their own rod and reel aboard.
The center console is very user-friendly with our brand new digital switching and easy access to everything you need to command your vessel. The double-bolster seat paired with this console makes it perfect for you to drive while giving plenty of space for your special someone to sit next to you. You could even have one of the kids sit next to you while you drive, showing them the ropes and teaching the next generation of great anglers.
One amenity that makes a long day out on the water much more enjoyable is access to a personal private bathroom. The center console has access to this private space so you can stay out on the water for longer. There are also access panels for all of the wiring for the boat’s center console inside this room, making long-term maintenance a breeze.
That’s not even mentioning the back deck of the boat which features two livewells to either side of the boat and a large folding bench in the middle for even more seating. The cushions can be removed to access several multipurpose storage compartments perfect for storing life jackets, fishing equipment, or other essentials.
The bow seating could comfortably fit four-to-five people around the table, plus an additional one-or-two sitting on the cooler bench across from the lounge. This boat is designed to bring everyone together in a space that is comfortable yet functional, optimizing every square inch for ultimate usability.
Hybrid Design
Unlike other bay boats that are confined to inshore waters, the 2600 Makaira is a hybrid model that has the capability to both be used inshore and offshore. Several of the specifications have been designed to allow for this hybrid use including the deadrise at transom, the beam length, the draft fully loaded, and even the length of the boat itself.
With an 18-degree deadrise at the transom, this boat slices through water and offers a softer ride in offshore conditions. The 9-foot 2-inch long beam offers the stability of a wider beam without majorly reducing the greater speed and agility offered by narrower beam lengths. Additionally, the draft fully loaded is only 17 inches, meaning that this 25-foot 6-inch length boat can coast through shallows as well as it can slice through tides.
