The 2700 Hybrid’s Top 5 Features

There are several reasons why the 2700 Hybrid has become a classic among Blazer’s line of bay boats. With its versatility, dependability, and comfortable ride, it’s no question why it has remained as popular as it has been over the years.

From the comfortable seating and double stepped hull to provide your family a smooth ride all day to the tournament rack, optional second station, and insulated fishing boxes for that pro angler experience, there are hundreds of reasons this boat stands above the rest. Here we have highlighted five of the most impactful features when it comes to choosing a boat that is right for you.

Offshore and Inshore Capabilities

Depending on the fish you intend to catch, you may want to target either offshore or inshore waters. Usually, a boat is designed for one or the other due to their unique characteristics. Inshore fishing includes everything within 10-15 miles of shore, which is best for redfish and snapper and often involves navigating shallow, calm waters. In contrast, offshore fishing usually involves fishing up to 80 miles from the coast in deeper waters and is best for targeting big game like tuna and mahi-mahi.

The 2700 Hybrid is able to target both offshore and inshore fishing through its hybrid boat design. Like many offshore boat models, the 2700 Hybrid has a deep-V hull with a high internal freeboard of 24 inches. These deep sides and double-stepped hull are perfect for managing the larger wave patterns of deeper waters.

As for inshore capabilities, most inshore boat models are smaller, lighter vessels with shallow drafts for navigating shallow coastal terrain like estuaries and grass flats. The 2700 Hybrid also shares this characteristic with a draft fully loaded of 16 inches, making navigating shallow water a breeze.

The combination of these characteristics makes the 2700 Hybrid flexible across aquatic terrains. Whether you are catching big mahi-mahi this weekend or navigating the shallows in search of some redfish for dinner, this boat model remains at peak performance across a wide range of conditions.

Double-Stepped Hull

One of the 2700 Hybrid’s most well-known features is its double-stepped hull. Also called a twin-stepped hull, this feature describes a unique shape to the bottom of the boat that allows for air to flow more seamlessly, reducing frictional drag. It gets its name from the two carved, step-like shapes running perpendicular to the length of the boat. By breaking the hull into multiple planing surfaces, friction is reduced leading to increased speed and fuel efficiency compared to more conventional hull designs.

Seating for the Whole Family

There is plenty of seating around the whole vessel for up to eight passengers. In the front lounge area, there is an optional comfortable bow step seat cushion that faces towards the center console. At the front of the console, there is a cooler seat for easy, casual conversation between those relaxing near the bow of the boat.

At the center console, there is a wide double-bolster seat to comfortably accommodate two people at the helm of the boat. Each end of the seat has an adjustable arm rest, with foldable foot rests below for maximum comfort. There is also the option for a second station above the center console seats which also features a double-bolster seating bench.

Lastly, there is the rear deck which features not just two livewells, but a foldable bench for additional seating. This bench can easily convert from a relaxing spot to sit into additional deck space, allowing your boat to convert between rounds of fishing and relaxing rides between destinations.

Second Station with Tournament Rack

One option that makes the 2700 Hybrid stand out from other hybrid bay boats is its second station and tournament rack. The second station is an optional feature that allows for steering of the ship to be controlled from a raised vantage point, giving you control as you guide your boat towards swarms of fish that can be hard to see from ground level.

While the second station is optional, every 2700 Hybrid features its famous tournament rack. With plenty of slots for each of your fishing rods, there is more than enough room for everyone aboard to have their own gear and still have space for spares.

Insulated Fish Boxes

The last of the five key features on the 2700 Hybrid is its insulated fish boxes. As fish boxes are used to store and transport fish while keeping them fresh, it is important for those compartments to be properly insulated in order to keep catches cold and ice solid. These insulated fish boxes are able to withstand the highs of Gulf Coast heat while still keeping your catch chilled.
